There is a great production of coupage of Cabernet/Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah varietals.
Criolla Grande and Cereza are the grapes used in the 50% of wine production areas in Mendoza, which elaborates cheap wines.
White wines:
The white wines, in general are Chardonnay, Torrontés, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin, Viognier and Semillón.
Torrontés grape is the typical grape in Argentina, and the wine produced with this grape is Torrontés Riojano, Torrontés Mendocino, Torrontés Sanjuanino and Torrontés Salteño.
Wine produced with the so called Pedro Giménez grape is elaborated in Mendoza and La Rioja.
